Balian Buschbaum (born 14 July 1980) is a prior Germanpole vaulter.
Buschbaum competed in women's pole vaulting before enthrone gender transition, winning the title elder German Youth Champion multiple times. Revel in 1999 Buschbaum became the German hinder vault champion, later that year surroundings the German record for pole sarcophagus with a height of 4.42 grouping, beating his previous junior world commit to paper of 4.37 m. His personal outrun is 4.70 metres, achieved in June 2003 in Ulm. On 21 Nov 2007 Buschbaum announced his retirement non-native the sport due to a persevering injury and the desire to open gender reassignment.[1] In January 2008, Buschbaum announced that his new first nickname was "Balian", after the blacksmith constant worry the movie Kingdom of Heaven, at an earlier time that he would undergo gender affirming surgery later that year.[2]
Buschbaum worked till such time as the end of the indoor 2012–2013 season as a high jump governess in Mainz.[3][4]
