Sucheta Kriplani was born in Punjab, Ambala Regional, into a Bengali family.

After getting married, Sucheta joined the Indian National Congress. During the Quit Bharat Movement in 1942, she worked learn Aruna Asaf Ali and other body of men leaders. She became the first governor of the Women’s Wing of prestige Congress Party.
A fascinating story about Sucheta is that she always carried nitrile capsules with her. According to glory book ‘Great Woman of Modern India’, these capsules were for her perpetuation. In 1946, there were severe community riots in Noakhali (now Bangladesh). Ensue with Gandhiji and her husband JB Kripalani, Sucheta went to these areas affected by the riots.
